 1898 Waverly Inn is the oldest surviving inn in Hendersonville. This inn was built at one end of Hendersonville’s wide tree-lined streets when guests walked on boardwalks and oil lamps were at the street corners. We have been making guests feel comfortable since they arrived by train or stagecoach. But we have been quick to embrace modern conveniences! We’ve had electricity available since 1903 and telephone since 1904!   Firefly Cottage provides an economical, peaceful, and cozy spot to spend your special time. It is the historical location of Orr's Store (please look inside the cottage to read more about the history). This is a one bedroom efficiency apartment that is a work in process (labor of love).

It includes one separate bedroom, one bathroom, plus a kitchen/dining/living area. We are located 3 miles from DuPont State Forest which provides waterfalls, hiking trails, and biking trails. Pisgah National Forest is located approximately 9 miles away.

Enjoy the local breweries and shops in downtown Brevard and Hendersonville, NC. Eclectic Asheville and Asheville Regional Airport are only 30 minutes away.
